You can make many of new friends and chat to radio hams in countries far and wide. Just try to picture what it would be like when you walk into your very own Radio Shack, sit in front of your brand new radio transceiver, pick up the microphone, press the push-to-talk, and a Radio Amateur on the opposite side of the world comes straight back to your CQ call. It will blow your socks off. And radio conditions permitting, it is easy to do. You don’t have to be fluent – just a few pleasant words will break the ice. And if you’re required to stay in the house because of illness, old age, or disability – amateur radio will keep you in touch with the rest of the world. These are just a few of the many aspects of Amateur Radio.

The benefits just go on and on. Now it’s your turn. Why don’t you give it a try. Discover for yourself the fun of this remarkable hobby. In less than 20 minutes a day, you can teach yourself enough to pass the straightforward exam that is required to get your Amateur Radio Licence.
