Route 66 On The Air

Radio Amateurs are proud
to be a part of this fun event which W6R operates from the
actual birthplace of Route 66, the Mother Road of America.
Here is a copy of the original telegram that, on April 30,
1926 was sent from the Continental Hotel in downtown
Springfield. During a meeting with officials from several
nighboring states they set the name of what was to become
the Mother road of America, Route 66.
